ASSET was on Capitol Hill hosting a briefing with the Center for Freedom and Prosperity. On September 26, 2011 Jack Fitzgerald, Auto Dealer and Founder of ASSET: Americans Standing for the Simplification of the Estate Tax participated in a briefing on Capitol Hill called ”Changing the Estate Tax: Fairly, Immediately, and with Economic Benefit For All.” The briefing will provided participants with the chance to hear more about a legislative proposal to end the harm caused by the estate tax through a change in collection methodology. Mr. Fitzgerald was joined by Economist Steve Entin. Former Rep. Phil English has also been working with ASSET to develop the ASSET legislative concept. Jack Fitzgerald is often remembered for his successful grass roots campaign to change the mind of the Auto Task Force in 2009 when he lead the effort to create CRDR – the Committee to Restore Dealer Rights and helped secure a legislative solution that ultimately saved jobs.
